Gathering 09 Pictures
Chief David Ross of Ross and Balnagowan arrives with Lady Eileen. Following behind are Tain and District Trust Chairman, Alistair Jupp, Hugh Ross, Younger of Ross, accompanied by his family and Museum Trustee, Anne Itoe. The group were piped in by Alasdair Mearns.

With the Gathering underway everyone splits into groups for the workshops. Kerrie Finlay presents the workshop on Gaelic song. She is seen here with one of the group leaders, Jet Christie.  Dancing instructors Maureen and Colin Ritchie demonstrate, accompanied by Philip Ward (another group leader).

Local dancers accompanied by Dr Sandy Gordon close the afternoon activities.
 
In the evening Dr David Worthington presents a talk on the
Rosses in Europe to a capacity audience. But first a performance
of the Lucia by Emma Ekstrand and the children from the
Finnish group. 
Then a choral performance by the adults. 
The evening is brought to a close with a procession to the Rose Garden where Tain Pipe Band entertain locals and visitors alike. 
Thursday 13th August
The Clan assembles at the Duthac Centre ready to join the Cheiftain's Parade along Tain High Street. They are led off by former Chieftains and the pipe band. 
David Ross of Ross and Balnagowan leads the Clan Ross. His family carry his personal banner.
