Ross Music - a celebration of the music of Ross-shire

Museum volunteer, Jason Ubych, shows Zef Ubych and Elise Innes a one hundred year drum from the museum collection as Lorna Ubych drums up support for the Ross Music concert.

A stellar line up of local musicians will be performing in the Duthac Centre, Tain on 13th August 2014.

“Ross Music” a celebration of the music of Ross-shire has been arranged as part of the Clan Ross Gathering 2014. The concert will feature Fèis Rois Ceilidh Trail, the up and coming young stars of the future along with undisputed masters of music, Duncan MacGillivray, Fiona J Mackenzie and Dagger Gordon.

The  volunteers at Tain & District Museum and Clan Ross Centre,  are organising and hosting the 2014 Clan Ross Gathering (12th – 14th August)  and are looking forward to welcoming Rosses from across the world as well as those from home.  Museum Trust chairman, Alistair Jupp said:

 “Our concert is a true celebration of the music of Ross-shire and a great opportunity to experience fantastic Highland music performed by the finest of local musicians. We are grateful to Fèis Rois for helping us put together such an exciting line-up”

This event is part of the “My heart’s in the Highlands” Homecoming 2014 project, a programme of 80+ special events at museums and heritage sites in the Highland and Moray Council areas exploring and celebrating what makes the Highlands special to people who live here, and to people around the world.
