About our website
This new website for Tain Through Time is still under development. The following features are now in place and will continue to be added to. We hope that these will encourage you to visit us if you can. If a visit is not practical they will go some way to giving you a flavour of the diversity of material in our care and the story we have to tell about Tain and its history.

Image library This will eventually hold about 500 of the museum's most interesting old photographs. You will be able to build up your own album of favourites, request prints and add comments if you know anything about the people and places shown. The images will be continue to be selected and added by a small group of museum volunteers as time permits.
Document library This gives access to transcripts of documents from the museum's collection of archives, which includes material from the early 16th century to the 20th century. The transcripts will be in the form of pdf files which can be downloaded to your own computer. Again much of the selection and preparation of material will be continue to becarried out by museum volunteers over the next year until we reach our target of 100 items.

Collections data This holds images and detailed descriptions of a few selected sections of the museum's collection of artefacts. It is hoped to add a section of items related to World War II in the course of 2005-06.
