I came across this photo today on a genealogy hunt. I found Anne Smyth! Her father, Arthur Hugh Vanston Smyth (1913 - 2004) was Rector of the Tain Royal Academy - though I don't yet know which years.
So glad you posted the photo and took the time to add the names you remember. Happy memories to you.

I attended TRA from 1969-1974, and I'm pretty sure Arthur Smyth was Rector all that time, though I wouldn't know beyond that. He also attended (with Mrs Smyth) our class of '69 reunion as guest of honour in 2001. Coincidentally, most of the pupils were 44 years old at the time; the rector was exactly twice that.

Arthur Smyth took up the post of rector in 1964/65. I was in first year in 1965 and he was also very new.
