Mr & Mrs W T Mactavish

William Tavish Mactavish (b. 1845, d. 1915) was a solicitor in Tain. He was the son of Alexander Mactavish, solicitor in Inverness. This picture was taken by William Smith, photographer in Tain, probably c1900-1910. Mr Mactavish is shown here with his wife (seated) and 3 sisters, the Misses Humphrey. Mrs. Mactavish was also a Humphrey. William's son Alexander (Alick) carried on his father's practice in Tain. See Picture #400.
