My grand father..Mr John Anderson (1854-1905) of Upper Gledfield farm, was a" PRECENTOR" in this church...I inherited a gold watch, presented to him in 1886. Inscription reads...."Presented to Mr John
Anderson by ladies of the English Congregation of Kincardine Free Church, to testify their esteem. for his character and gratitude for his leading the Psalmody for so many years...July 1886 "
On visiting the church, a couple of years ago, in the hope of tracking more information about his mother ..Anne Gallie..my great grand mother....I was told that many years ago...the church beadle/warden, shooting at pidgeons, nesting in the thatched roof...set fire to the building !! which destroyed most of the early parish records !!
Believe correspondent Katharine Broome...and I share the same great grandmother....Anne gallie...
wife of George Anderson. My grand father John Anderson...and Katharine Broome`s grand mother Emily Jane Anderson...were brother and sister..
