Comments:
Annabelle Ross was my mother. She was brought up in Gower Place and Springfield. Her father was Alex Ross postman and when he retired he ran the library. Mum had three brothers, David, Bill Sandy. Only Sandy is left now- back from Africa and living in Lockerbie with his wife Audrey. Mum was a Brown Owl. I have many happy memories of long Summer holidays in Tain.

My father was Robert Mackenzie, he was brought up at Wester Seafield, Portmahomack, where his father John Alex Mackenzie farmed with his great unlcle George Ross. Dad went on to study at University in Edinburgh and worked for the Macaulay Research Institute.
David Duff came from Balnabruich, he married my mother's sister and lived in Glenrothes.
Murdo Macleod was the Ministers son at Portmahomack. He was killed in London in the 2nd World War during a German bombing. I still have the letter my father received advising of his death.

My great grandfather George Tough, Salmon Fisher, lived in Portmahomack with his family from 1880 till late 1940's.
Interested to know if Janet Tough is/was related.
