Dr Horne was a well known and respected doctor in the Tain practice in the days before the current health centre was built. She is seen here relaxing in her home in Scotsburn Road.

I was delivered into this world by Dr Horne! My mother, Ida Donnachie, was on her way to Dingwall hospital to give birth in January 1961, but had to stop in Tain due to the bad weather. Dr Horne was called on during the night as she lived across the road from my grandparents on Scotsburn road. I dont think she had had the chance to deliver a baby for many years, so was happy to oblige! She was a great doctor and lady, and a very good friend of my mothers.

Dr Horne was a lovely lady and I missed her very much when she left Tain to live in England.

Born in Cullen to Mary & George Robertson. (Mary taught classics at Fordyce Academy. George ran a drapers shop in Cullen)

My aunt Marian was a great character, also kind and considerate.
She enjoyed the good things in life and in her early eighties drove a bmw coupe, which she would use to visit friends around Tain and daughters and grandchildren in England (she never sat a driving test).
She made many visits to Cullen after my dad's death and gave great comfort to my mum.
Latterly, due to ill health, she moved to Cheshire to be closer to her daughters Anne and Kate.

Dr Marian Margaret Robertson:
Married Dr Colin Mackenzie - daughters Anne and Katherine.
Married James Horne MD after Colin's death.

Two brothers, George and William:
After wartime service as an army doctor, George Robertson served as a GP in Alness for many years.
After wartime RAF service, William Robertson continued the family Drapery business in Cullen.
