My grandfather William Rennie McCracken was headmaster from 1904 to 1937 and my mother is Helen Whyte McCracken in the 3rd row. If anyone can provide any detail of their time in Tain that would help with my Family History, I would be most grateful.

The pupils of Knockbreck school have just written a history of the school and in the process have successfully located the log book which Mr McCracken wrote in. It had been missing for the past 15 years but during their research they tracked it down. It will be lodged with the archives in Inverness with the other school logs.
